In “A Rose from Emily”, why do you think Miss Emily’s crime goes undetected until her death? Identify at least three contributing factors and support them with reference to the story.

In “A Rose from Emily”, her crime goes undetected because 1.she is a recluse 2 had a crazy family in   3 she was treated like she was crazy but not to her face.

for the first point she is a recluse because  Wyatt, her great-aunt was crazy and that may have her develop into a recluse. Second point is  her family had a bad reputation  as it says"...even with insanity in the family..." the people felt"When her father died, it got about that the house was all that was left to her; and in a way, people were glad. At last they could pity Miss Emily." the people did not interact with her much less blame her because she had a troubled family. third and final point she did not have interact with the common people. That drives people away from them and no one  goes to visit.

What is Romanticism, Gothic Romanticism and Southern Gothic Romanticism? How are they similar how are they different?

romanticism is a way of writing using emotion as the highlight instead of logic. Gothic romanticism uses the darkened emotions we all have to teach us lessons we would not learn otherwise learn. Southern gothic romanticism focuses on America in the north/south time period and social interaction. they are similar because they all use emotion to get the point across.

In the story a life you save may be your own Mr. shiftlet appears at this old woman's house looking for work but gave no inclination of his morals for example "Lady," he said, "nowadays, people'll do anything anyways. I can tell you my name is Tom T. Shiftlet and I come from Tarwater, Tennessee, but you never have seen me before: how you know I ain't lying? How you know my name ain't Aaron Sparks, lady, and I come from Singleberry, Georgia, or how you know it's not George Speeds and I come from Lucy, Alabama, or how you know I ain't Thompson Bright from Toolafalls, Mississippi?".he tries to say it but it doesn't get conveyed through his action.I believe this is what doesn't work. Mr. Shiftlet has opportunities thrown at him that he misuses and ultimately leaves them for example his wife that he married was left at a gas station. Then the hitchhiker brings karma back to bite him in the butt.

How is this song about escaping the physical conditions of slavery? How is this song about religious hope and faith? How is this song reflective of its time period? How does it relate to today?

How is this song about escaping the physical conditions of slavery? How is this song about religious hope and faith? How is this song reflective of its time period? How does it relate to today?

this song uses symbolism to convey freedom example the chariot. with the  symbolism of the angels taking them to a better place. This song lyrics time period was when Africans were still slaves in America. It is now a reminder of freedom and forward-thinking.

How do the Gothic fiction writers express—either directly or indirectly—a criticism of human nature. Explain what the writers criticize about human nature, and how they communicate this criticism to the reader. Do the writers have similar attitudes toward human nature? Explain.
Gothic Fiction writers use the darker side of human emotion to criticize people as a whole. They criticize these people directly, by using murder, espionage, and other various brutal means to unveil the darker side of human emotion. They also exemplify this indirectly, by conveying themes of love turned to hate, brutal mistakes, and tragedy by using our underlying emotions and own opinions to  torment us with their own ideas. The dark emotions in human nature are criticized by the authors to make a point or bring to light the change we could all go through. They communicate the criticism of human nature to the reader by dramatic turning points, or startling realizations, to present  the change needed to turn ourselves to our darker sides. Yes, the writers have similar attitudes toward human nature as in showing darkened themes and horrid fantasies manipulating how the reader feels.
